GLENCOE LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

MOUNTAINS, WATERFALLS + LOCHS.

A full-day landscape photography tuition workshop course in Glencoe.

£229 per person.
This workshop can also be run on an exclusive one-to-one basis for £299.

DESCRIPTION

This workshop features the stunning mountains, waterfalls and lochs of the Glencoe area.

The Glencoe area is best visited between October and March.

The exact itinerary will be based on the prevailing weather conditions, but locations will be chosen from - Buachaille Etive Mòr/Stob Dearg, Blackrock Cottage, Glen Etive, Meeting of Three Waters/Glencoe Falls, Lagangarbh ‘Wee White Hoose’, Loch Achtriochtan, Three Sisters of Glencoe, Clachaig Falls, Loch Tulla, Pap of Glencoe + Lochan-na-Achlaise.

This environmentally responsible workshop is limited to a maximum of 3 participants to maximise the potential of each location without overcrowding and also to avoid damaging the habitats. This is particularly relevant at the classic Buachaille Etive Mòr/Stob Dearg viewpoint over the River Coupall waterfalls, it has become so popular that the whole area has been devastated. I know it is a great shot but unless the ground is frozen solid and there is a lot of water gushing over the falls, I would suggest we do the right thing and go elsewhere.

In general we will keep to the proper paths in order to protect the natural environment and respect the local habitats.

In addition to visiting these stunning locations we will cover the following topics to improve your images and the enjoyment of your photography; composition, how to read light, the relationship between shutter speed, aperture and ISO, hyper focal distance, depth of field, shooting RAW, the histogram and anything else you may wish to learn or cover.

Ideally you will have a digital SLR or mirrorless camera with a wide angle and a standard to medium telephoto zoom (or prime) lenses, plus a tripod. Filters including a polariser would be useful and solid neutral density (ND) filters are essential if you wish to capture long exposures.
